My Secret Acne Weapon: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub

I don’t know if I’ve really spoken about this before much here but I used to have terrible acne when I was younger and throughout most of high school. I really credit the whole Proactiv line for helping my skin be the clearest it could have been at the time which, if you had seen me, would have seemed like an impossible feat.

Since high school I have worked insanely hard to keep my skin as blemish free as possible. This obviously comes with finding the right skincare routine and the right products to build this routine. I’m not going to lie- my current skincare routine took YEARS to figure out and it was through tons of research as well as trial and error that lead me to this skincare routine and current arsenal of products that help keep my skin clear.

So today I thought I would introduce one consistent buddy of mine that I have literally used FOREVER since my teenage days when my skin was at its worst. And guys, it is a drugstore product ($7.49 CAD!!) and it works so well.

The Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub has seen me through some of my worst breakouts. In high school, I used to use this product at least four times a week to help with my acne and it has always calmed down my breakouts while helping to prevent future breakouts.

I like how this scrub feels super gritty and how you can feel it getting into your pores and really cleaning your skin. I love knowing that the tiny microbeads are working hard to tackle my acne since I know I am also working hard to make sure my skin is clear and happy. My skin always feels so smooth and soft after using this scrub and I also love how clean and refreshed it feels. I always get nervous that acne products will dry out my skin but this product is surprisingly really creamy and has never dried out my skin once.

These days, I use it every Sunday after I wash my face with my Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Gel and then I follow it with the Origins Clear Improvement® Active Charcoal Mask to further clear my pores. This Sunday ritual has proven to keep my acne under control and I like the idea that this routine is deep cleaning my skin from the weekend and is prepping my skin to be ready for a new week ahead.

I haven’t tried any other products from Neutrogena’s Oil Free Acne Stress Control line because I have been so happy with this product, but I have heard and read really wonderful things about it.
