A Christmas Market Visit + 5 December Beauty Favourites!

Guys- have I not been the worst blogger ever? Ugh I always do this! Work has been suuuuuuper busy and I really just need to get back into my blogging routine and focus. Man oh man….

So that being said- LETS TALK ABOUT SOME DECEMBER STUFFS! 😀

A December Afternoon At: The Toronto Christmas Market (November 16 – December 23)

One of the Toronto’s favourite holiday events is the Toronto Christmas Market that takes place every year from mid-November until right before Christmas in the historic Distillery District. This market is free (FREE!) during the week and only costs $6.00 for entry on weekends. My boyfriend and I went last weekend for the first time and we had the best time.

Decorated to the nines with Christmas decorations, the Distillery District is transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland and is absolutely stunning with lights, garland and Christmas cheer as far as the eye can see. One of the best things about this market is that there is something for everyone to do. There are always tons of vendors selling the most delicious food and the most beautiful trinkets as well as activities for children such as Santa Claus visits and Christmas performances. Stores found within the Distillery District normally have amazing sales during this time which makes spending the afternoon here even more fun.

We walked around for a few hours and snacked our way through the market while we people watched and dipped in and out of stores. It totally got us in the holiday spirit and made us even more excited for Christmas. If you ever visit Toronto during the holiday season and are looking for a fun Christmas activity, I highly recommend a visit to this market 😀 ❤

Maybelline Lipstick Combo: Warm Me Up + Lust For Blush – I am obsessed with this combo at the moment oh my god. Warm Me Up is always my base and I love to layer Lust For Blush on top which together gives me a gorgeous, warm, mauve colour that lasts for hours and hours. Even after eating and drinking throughout the day, I know that when I look in the mirror I will still see a beautiful shade of colour on my lips. Plus I just adore that lived in, faded lip colour even more than the initial application especially with this colour combo. Win-win I’d say.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde: Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo – do you guys remember these products? These are so OG for me. I can vividly remember seeing the commercials for these babies and being blown away that there were products that could literally make your hair more blonde / brown / red etc. just from washing your hair in the shower. Over 10 years later and I’m still LOVING this guy. I bough this particular bottle years ago (check out the old bottle design) when I didn’t have the cash to touchup my blonde highlights and recently dug it up again when my Ouai shampoo ran out and didn’t have time to go grab another one. Should you use a shampoo after having the same bottle for years? I’m not sure. BUT- it has been making my hair brighter, blonder and shinier so I am a-ok with taking that chance.

L’Oréal Hair Expertise Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Mask Balm– another haircare favourite for this month! As winter continues and my hair gets frizzier and more dry by the day, I desperately need a hair mask to moisturize my hair and keep it in check. This nourishing mask smells and feels so luxurious that I actually get SO excited to use it. It is such an amazing treat my hair and just for me as part of my shower routine. I love how soft and healthy my hair is after using this beauty and I only use it about three times a week. Totally recommend especially for the glorious drugstore price.

Glossier Cloud Paint in Haze – cutest name for the cutest blush. I wrote about this puppy here and have still been wearing it endlessly ever since that post. I have a feeling this will always be a monthly favourite (promise I won’t always include it, don’t worry) and I am just DYING to try all of the other colours when I am finished with this tube. Love you forever Glossier xo.

Vitamin Ddrops – a winter essential for me – oh my god. I am one of those people that need the sun to feel happy, healthy and alive. While this is impossible during the Canadian winter months, I try my hardest to get the benefits the sun gives my soul and body through daily vitamin D drops. Vitamin D can be super difficult for Canadians (or anyone who experiences long winters) to get in these dark months which can really impact how we feel emotionally and mentally. I know that during winter it is easy for me to feel quite down and sad due to the lack of sunshine and while I can’t actually see the sun for long periods of time, the nutrients I would be absorbing through the sun are still working internally through these drops. I have felt such a difference with my mood since I started taking a drop of vitamin D daily and I know that winter would feel a million times longer without this product.

What beauty goodies have you guys been loving this December? Have you ever been to the Toronto Christmas Market? 😀

  1. The Toronto market looks so beautiful and festive! I wish we had something like that in Edmonton.. We have west Edmonton mall which is all lit up inside, but it’s just not the same 😦
I need to think about getting some vitamin D drops, I’m feeling less like myself now that the sun sets so early!

    1. It was so beautiful! If you ever come visit Toronto during the holiday season, you should for sure check it out! I have heard the Edmonton mall is absolutely stunning though and it sounds like such a fun mall 😀 Ahhh I can’t recommend vitamin D drops enough! They have helped me feel so much better and they last forever since all you need is one drop a day! ❤

      1. I would love to visit during the holiday season one day! I’ve only been around the Toronto airport, but I’m hoping to see more of the city next year.
The mall has really stepped up their look in the past few years, since I live here it’s not as much of a big deal to me as I’ve seen it over a hundred times, but if you’ve never been it’s worth a visit!
        I’ll need to get some!
