Drugstore Skincare Haul + Reviews

It happened again – I got “lost” ( 😉 ) in the drugstore after going there for only one thing and ended up leaving with 5 (!!!) skincare baddies:

Pixi Beauty Skintreats Rose Caviar Essence

Okay- first of all, how absolutely luxurious does the name alone sound? It sounds like this product was sourced from a goddess who has perfect, glowing skin at all times. Aka my daily/ forever goal. This beautiful little tube promises to “hydrate and restore skin’s brightness for optimum radiance” through encapsulated flower oils as it is formulated with “antioxidant rich natural oils”, and will “soften, refine and tone”. I mean… ❤

I have been using this product for the last week before bed and my skin has felt and looked so smooth and hydrated when I wake up. I love how light weight this essence is and how the consistency is like a light jelly which makes it easy to pat into your skin and for your skin to absorb. Plus it smells sooooo good you guys. I will for sure being buying this again 😀

L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother

I’m going to real with you guys – when it comes to eye creams I just grab whatever is on sale. A) because I am on a budget as a gal trying to save money for, well, life really lol. And B) because I don’t really think I need an eye cream that is super intense as I am still quite young. I have been using eye cream since I was 18 and have found that most of them all kind of give me the same results- nice but nothing outstanding.

So, as outlined above, I grabbed this cute little tube because it was on sale and after using it for a few weeks I have determined that it is just okay. I really do like how much product you get within the tube as well as the mess-free applicator but as for the actual product, it is kind of meh in my books. I don’t hate or love it but I feel like I can find a better drugstore option out there for sure. While the hunt continues I am still dreaming of the day when I can afford higher-end eye creams to banish my baby crows feet and proof of all of my late nights forever.

L’Oreal Pure- Sugar Smooth & Glow Scrub For Dry Skin

Every girl that lives in a cold climate for a portion (or majority- Hello Canada!) of the years knows that a good facial scrub is key for taking care of flaky, dry skin. I picked this sugar scrub up because I don’t have any products like this in my rotation and using any product with sugar on your face just sounds so decadent and delicious.

Made from a “naturally derived blend of 3 pure sugars” that are “paired with finely ground Acai, nutrient-rich Grapeseed and Monoi oils”, this scrub promises to “gently exfoliates revealing instant baby-soft, smooth skin.” And honestly, it did. After rinsing this off, my skin immediately felt really smooth, soft and refreshed and I couldn’t stop touching it because I was so pleased with the results. It also smells like a sugary heaven which is never a bad thing. This is the first collection of sugar scrubs from L’Oreal and based on this purchase, I will for sure be purchasing more.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream

Is this a new product? No. Have I already written about it on my blog? Yes. Am I still obsessed and so excited to use it again as my spring/summer moisturizer? You better believe it!

That’s right guys! This baby is back in action now that winter is winding down and honestly, and cringe if you will but whatever, my skin really missed this. I could tell the second I slathered this on my face one morning because I could literally feel my skin drinking it up. I looked in the mirror and I was smiling, my skin was smiling and the world around us was smiling again 😀

I just re-read my last post about this guy and everything I mentioned and thought then still holds true to a tee. I am still in love with this product. It is also worth mentioning that while my love for this hasn’t dwindled in the slightest, that the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line hasn’t either! Since I purchased this for the first time last May, the line has grown to include an exfoliating cleanser, multi-vitamin booster, hydrating hydrogel mask, gel cream for extra dry skin, gel cream with SPF, gel eye cream, hydrating serum and hydrating cleansing oil. And with that, R.I.P all future pay cheques.

L’Oreal Lumi Glotion

snapseed-3

As someone who is obsessed with the True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator , I was super excited to stumble upon the L’Oreal Lumi Glotion. This gorgeous little gem promises “an illuminating color tint to enhance your skin’s natural skin glow for a healthier, brighter complexion.” Plus also, lets real, you can never really have too many highlighters ….. right? 😀

I love that this product is also versatile as you can wear it alone as a highlighter or under your foundation depending on your personal preference. As someone who does have oily skin, I know that I will be using this as a highlighter after I apply my makeup as my fear of looking overly oily is one that I doubt will ever go away. Also, because this is a highlighting lotion, I want to use this on my body as well throughout the summer to give my skin a little luminous glow. I plan on putting this on my collar bone, my calves and everywhere else in between.

Have you tried any of the above products? Or bought any amazing drugstore products I should try? 😀
