So this is what I’m thinking – obviously me being ‘back in action’ didn’t mean much as I haven’t posted in months (oops) but I’ve just been so uninspired lately. Plan and simple.
I felt like everywhere I looked, bloggers and influencers were all mirroring each other with the same aesthetic and nothing felt original or authentic anymore. I get that we can all like a certain aesthetic and that’s great, but I started feeling like everything was just getting repetitive in the blogging world. It started to frustrate me as I felt like, what is the point of blogging if this is the direction it is going and I don’t want to be a part of it? But now I have decided to just create what I love and hope that everyone else loves it too. I need more creativity in my little blog and I just wasn’t being creatively fulfilled these past six months by trying to fit myself into a box of what I thought a blog should look like and be.
I honestly am so proud of every single post on here and I have the biggest smile on my face every time I go back and read them. It is through this smile that I know my work here isn’t done – it just needs to change as I change. ❤
Therefore – to mix it up a bit – I’m thinking of starting to do more research based posts specifically about Canadian beauty, fashion and lifestyle brands. Obviously, I LOVE Toronto but there is so much more to Canada that I don’t think people realize. We have so many wonderful creatives here that are so, so, so talented and need a little bit of spotlight shed on them. While my audience here isn’t huge, I can see that I do have people from all over this beautiful world visiting my page which makes me excited about sharing some Canadian gems with you 😀
For example, just look at some of the incredible beauty brands that were created in Canada:
- Bite Beauty
- The Ordinary
- MAC Cosmetics
- RMS Beauty
- F. Miller
- Stellar Beauty
- Cake Beauty
- Province Apothecary
- Pura Botanicals
Need I say more? 😀 ❤
