Little L’Oreal Haul

Hello all!

Yesterday I popped into Shopper’s Drug Mart to grab some coconut water and ended up walking out with some L’Oreal purchases (I mean, of course – I actually can never walk into a drug store without leaving with beauty products) 😀

I had been dying to try the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation for awhile now as it seems that everyone is obsessed with it and swore it was the perfect summer foundation due to its mattifying properties. Therefore I was super excited to try it out especially because I have oily skin and the heat and humidity here have been out of control lately. So how was it? It was okay. Not bad, not great but not a product that I will be repurchasing. I personally found it to be far too heavy for my liking as it felt like I was applying a very thick mask over my skin that was very hard to blend. Even after attempting to blend it, I could still see how thick the formula was on my skin and how it was very apparent that I was wearing foundation which is a look I always try and avoid. It looked extremely cakey especially on my dry patches which I didn’t even know I had until I applied this foundation. On the plus side however, it did keep my skin quite matte during my 25 minute walk to work in very humid weather but I was so self conscious about how noticeable the foundation was on my face that I couldn’t even enjoy how matte I looked.

I also picked up the Visible Lift Blur Concealer in Fair because a gorgeous friend of mine had purchased it and couldn’t stop raving about it. I must say, she was right! This concealer has beautiful coverage and is super easy to apply as it literally melts into your skin seamlessly and effortlessly. It really does seem to “blurr” any imperfections you may have as it makes the area that you apply it look airbrushed and so perfect. It brightens up your under eye area beautifully and conceals blemishes like a dream. I also really loved the shade selection as well and will definitely be repurchasing this in the future.

Finally, the L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm in Pink Satin has been one of my favourite lip balms for about a year now. It delivers the perfect pink colour that makes your lips looks like your lips but better… if that makes sense. It is the perfect pink to make your lips look more plump and full without making you look like a Barbie doll. The colour is more of a tint then a full out colour which makes it great to use throughout the day because you don’t have to worry about applying too much or worry about the colour running from your lips. The fact that this is actually a lip balm, even though it looks like a lipstick, is also great too since it keeps your lips nourished and moisturized all day while still giving you that slight pop of colour.

Has anyone else tried the above products? What did you think?

XO

  1. Aw it’s too bad you just had an okay experience with the foundation, but I also know where you’re coming from since I have oily skin as well. It’s pretty much difficult to find a foundation that will keep us from getting oily :/
